At 1200z (7:00 AM local) The IARU HF World Championship contest will
fire off for 24 hours, ending at 1200z Sunday (7:00 AM local). This is
the contest that hosts the World Radio Team Championship (WRTC) every
four years. This is NOT a WRTC year however activity will still be
heavy. This is a phone and CW contest (both modes) during the same time
so there will be a ton of DX on the bands today and tonight (excluding
30, 17 and 12 meters). The rules can be found here:

http://www.arrl.org/iaru-hf-world-championship

Your exchange will be your ITU Zone (NOT your CQ Zone) for those here in
Arkansas your ITU Zone is 7. You will also hear multipliers given out
from IARU Member Society stations that will send their member society
abbreviation. For Example W1AW will give "ARRL" as their report. As IARU
Secretary and a member of the IARU Administrative Council I will be
sending "AC" as my report. Each of these are a separate multiplier from
the "zone" multiplier. A list of IARU members societies from around the
world and their abbreviates can be found here:

https://www.iaru.org/reference/member-societies/

There will most likely be DX on that some of you need for a all time new
one, or a new one on a specific band. Keep an eye of 15 and 10 meters as
well and expect some DX there.

You know what to do....GET IN THERE AND WORK 'EM!

And don't forget 6 meters. While not one of the bands included in this
contest it is still hot!
