Joel, you sure have a busy day. Family is our true heritage and legacy and not our hobbies or jobs or even friendships over the years. The latter 3 entities are side effects of our lives, but our family is ‘who we are’, and I hope today we all can have those family gatherings, look around and say to ourselves “THIS is what really counts” each and every day.

Unfortunately our sons are either in Cancun on the way back home or in Hot Springs on the lake the entire weekend or my daughter with her fiancé in NLR with their pets. Still, it’s a special day to celebrate our freedoms here in the USA and look to picking up DX again tomorrow perhaps.. 😊
We are off to church and Sunday School today, seeing many friends there and listening to our pastor and SS teacher praise our Lord God and Jesus Christ for letting US be in THEIR eternal family every day!

The excitement of 6 meters is fascinating and frustrating to say the least, as you know well Bill.
K5EJ is 20 miles north of me, K5UR is about 20 miles SW then Earl ZM and Pat VY are about 60 or so miles S and SW respectively. Many times they hear things I don't and vice versa.
Of course, a true, died in the wool DX'er NEVER says he can't hear the DX station......you just say "I don't need it!!!!"  :-)))
Wishing all the ADXA folks a very happy and safe Independence Day. This is the one day of each year that my family (kids, grandkids, my two brothers and all their family, etc) all gather at our house for a big day of fun, food and remembrance of the significance of this day in history so it will be wild and crazy at W5ZN this afternoon and evening. Living out in the country also provides the opportunity for the kids (young and old!) to safely enjoy fireworks.

At least you saw some of the EU on 6 today. Only one made it to my QTH. Which seems to be the new normal after working bunches of them (and JA) last year from here. Really strange. Almost think the rig is working, but I know it does.

I don't always chase the 13 Colonies stations and never have applied for the certificate but decided for some reason to chase them this morning.  I got them all, including the 3 bonus stations.  Most were on SSB, a few on CW, and one on FT8.

I also worked on repairing my spud launcher which was damaged at Field Day. Unloaded about 10 pounds of stuff from the toolbox I took to Field Day.  It is plastic and the weight has warped it.  Time for a smaller toolbox for portable ops!   Tried to figure out why my AL-811 grid current meter doesn't work any more.  (I need a new amplifier - this one was intended to be a backup, anyway).

The best news is that a local, NK5K, who runs 100 watts to wire antennas, worked VP6MW on 15M SSB.  Working Pitcairn is always a thrill and he's a new enough ham that it was even more so.

Monitored some of the EU activity on 6 - my 3 elements at 15 feet will pick off one every now and then but I'm definitely a "little pistol" on 6.

I like to cheer for the home team. "Home Team" takes on different meanings depending on the event. If the local school 2 miles north of me (where Kim and I both attended and graduated from) is playing against a school a few miles away I root for our school. Home team takes on a broader geographical context if the Razorbacks, UALR, ASU, UCA, Tech or other state college is in a competition with someone out of state I'm all for the Arkansas schools. Even broader, if the USA is in a competition in, for example, the Olympics I'm cheering on the USA team.
So, what's the point? I'm sitting here in the shack this morning monitoring 6 meters for a possible new one however I'm quite excited to see several ADXA folks in the fray working EU. I see BHS, JJJ, VY, JQQ, ZM and most likely others in there banging out Q's. Scott, AAJ, is in there on 40 meters running folks this morning. Other ADXA folks are no doubt on their favorite band working DX as well.
We're still disadvantaged with Covid restricted DXpeditions however propagation is improving slowly, there is a lot of DX on the bands and all of the ADXA folks are very active. That assures me that our phrase "GET IN THERE AND WORK 'EM" has been taken to heart and know I'm in there cheering on the "ADXA Home Team!!!!"
GL es DX to all.
