Steve,

Wishing you good luck on getting QSLs on some older 6M QSOs. Hopefully you will get at least 10% response!

I got a 160M card from Warwick, E51WL. I had also used the PayPal method to request that card. On his QRZ page Warwick had mentioned getting on 6M with an LFA from parts furnished by Bob, ZL1RS, and getting his 6M amp running again. I told him I’d be looking for him on 6M. I worked him on 6M around the same time you did and sent him an e-mail asking if he could include the 6M Q with the 160M card. He said the 160M card was long gone but would put the 6M QSL in the mail. Hopefully I’ll get it in the next few days.

Conditions were very good on 160M and 80M last night. Worked OM2XW on 160M CW for a new one. Also worked 9A6D and OT4A on 160M CW. Bob, MD0CCE, was on 80CW in a UK/EI 80/40M CW contest as MD2C. Worked him for a new one on 80M. I was using my trap Vertical/Inverted “L” as RX antenna but noise level was pretty low and K index was at 1 or 0 last night. To top off the low band evening I worked HB0/HB9LCW on 160M FT8 for a new one. Fun while it lasted!

73,

Pat, W5VY

As did some other ADXA members, we worked E51WL in North Cook on 6 meters early in January. Since I was sitting at 103 worked and only 98 confirmed ... due TOTALLY from past laziness in QSLing, I wanted to get this one confirmed ASAP.

Warwick only QSLs direct, and suggests using Paypal to send the green stamps, typical for return postage. He states that this saves us the cost of sending a card, and speeds things up. Well, he was right. Sent the Paypal on 1/6. Got the card back today, 1/22. Not bad in my humble opinion. And got some darn nice stamps on the envelope to boot.

So now at 99 ... and mailed off cards from a few QSOs WELL OVER 10 years old. Lesson learned. Hope to get at least one of those back, hihi.

73, Steve, W5KI
