I finally have an antenna for 2 meters back up.  I intended to have both 144 and 432 ready for the contest this weekend, but it was too cold and windy today to get the 432 mounted.   I haven’t heard much activity on FT8 but I realize January isn’t prime time for VHF.  Maybe I can tell more tomorrow.  I copied Joel and also WB4LHD today but I’d probably hear either one of them on a wet string.

Thanks to Joel and Steve for reassuring me about the moles not eating my hardline.  It’s laying in the trench and will be buried soon.  

For the contest, I’ll have a mighty 100 watts to an 8 element yagi up a whole 15 feet.  I think in the June contest I worked 13 states on 2M with a similar setup so this should satisfy my occasional desire for VHF operation.   I’ll have 6, 2, and 432 ready for spring propagation, if I’m not too lazy.
