Lots of enjoyment here as well Bruce, if you can call staying up for 48
hours with CW buzzing in your head fun!!!!

I never do seem to get any rest the day of the contest so all day Friday
I was goofing off, got the station set up for this specific contest and
then hit it running at the zero hour Friday evening. Aside from a couple
of breaks to stand up and walk around (and take an occasional whiz) I
ran until just after EU sunrise Sunday morning at 0800z. I laid down on
the sofa here in the shack for a three hour nap and was back at it at
1100z. Needless to say at 6:00 PM last night I was ready for a good
nights sleep! I haven't been too energetic today!

Conditions were horrible on 160/80, 40 was decent and 20 was, of course,
roaring. Had a little bit of 15/10 activity Sunday afternoon. What was
surprising to me is the EU conditions were not as good as it should have
been but I believe I worked as many JA's as I did EU. It was also good
to hear a good number of VK's, ZL's and also several YB stations and a
couple of BY's.

Ended with a total of 2122 Q's and 250 DX multipliers for 1,591,500
points.

> I had a good time in DX test. I never could get a good run going, so was limited to S&P. Heard ZN running on 20 and on 80 heard WA5SOG working folks I couldn't hear. Really didn't hear much on 80, but everywhere else worked pretty much anyone I could hear. It was a good test of the new TS-890. I had fun, and that's all that matters. Early in the contest I noticed several guys coming back to double-check my call after I'd sent AR. That never happened when contesting from that rare state of IL. As a teen I started contesting from NE and just assumed everyone called CQ and immediately had a pileup. It took me a while to realize what was going on. Then I started going to a buddy's shack in WY. Fun times. K9OZ
