On the way to the 3Y Bouvet 3-4 years ago, UEE and his crew sailed from South America and on the way, there was a N2OO/3Y mm call of some sort being used on their way and giving out many grids, everyone chasing when they crossed into another grid in the boat. I have lost those MM logs but N2OO will have them. I am not sure if they were only on 6m but I thought I worked them on several grids on HF bands. Anyway I can not find those ‘interim sheets’, as I did NOT put the QSOs in my regular logs. Could not submit for grid confirmations if I even wanted to. Off VHF now anyway, so I stopped my 6m grid count a couple of years ago.
My two small “record books” going back to 1957 are torn up and taped at several points. HI They are so compact and hard for a normal person to follow, and I used different headings at times, like EM, EN, FN, DM etc. Then when the EU and AF grids were being worked I just put them ‘in order’ when I worked them.. Gosh, things are cluttered all over my record keeping and forgot where some of the books are. Lost 3 ARRL log books of K5YY when we moved from Texarkana to NWAR along with many QSLs that were in metal slide out cabinets that Earl would remember.
Anyway, I am not sure just what bands the mm 3Y0/N2OO used those few days on way to Bouvet. But there were no QSOs on the way to ZS6 on their route home the short way.
All stay safe. The weather IS improving!

UT1MM - have worked him on 6 several times!
I think the 160m guys use grid squares some also.

Air mobile doesn’t count for a grid award. To my knowledge, grid awards are only for six meters and above unless I missed something along the way.
There is a Ukrainian who is on a freighter who is always giving out grids on six, sometimes two and 432. Can’t remember his call at the moment.

You could likely take his stated position and pinpoint it yourself and if needed as a grid, tell him you are sending a card and please note his grid of XXOO on the card.
