On some laptops can be very noisy. So you may see this coming and going by how you orient your laptop to the radio or even closer to the antenna. Experiment with its location until you find something you can notice every time. Ditto for the power supply feeding the laptop.  In that case ferrite everything coming and going to your laptop.  73 JaySent from my Galaxy

Is this band related?I don't think it's from the settings or I can't think of any settings that would cause this. More likely noise from the computer and or monitor. Are you running the laptop? 73 JaySent from my Galaxy-------- Original message --------From: Scott Branyan <sbranyan at cox.net> Date: 12/28/21 3:57 PM (GMT-06:00) To: ADXA <adxa at mailman.qth.net> Subject: [ADXA] CW Skimmer question Not always, so it seems to be conditions related, but often while I am listening an otherwise quiet band and hear a faint station, when I turn on CW Skimmer I get more noise--sometimes enough to wipe out the station I hear. I've looked at settings in CWS and even experimented with them but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Any clue as to what might cause this? Thanks! Scott/W5AAJ
