Rory:
Agree with you Rory.. Shows some DXing is continuing despite poor SSN and propagation.
I only get a new band confirmation every couple of months, if that; so no need to bother Pat VY immediately every time. HI My last update was 10 months ago in October 2020! Thankfully, I got some buro cards recently which helped on some band counts.
I have made a concerted effort the past 18 months to track down some non-confirmed band counts and a couple of RTTY Qs from the past 4-5 years, but I find that my $ and sending to a supposedly known address have failed again for about the 3rd time. I am tired of checking or searching for operator/manager updates. So, I doubt any more pertinent increases in my band scores and for sure minimal to no new RTTY countries are “out there” for me to work. All my RTTYs are current, no DXCC deletions since I got on RTTY in late 2011.
Glad to see the ADXA is in there fighting, especially using the FT8/FT4 modes to get some semi-rare ones during the lull in propagation and weak signals. Guess I should have started FT8 3 years ago to improve my digital count but I decided to stay on RTTY, my dedicated digital mode as it was for Earl for years. And I knew the days of submitting for a new DXCC of some sort were over and taking a lot of time to apply. Keeping paper QSLs as I have always done (never LoTW) is all I need to comfort me. 😊 Just too much of an ole’ timer I guess.
73 for now.
