Sure Scott. The DXCC Challenge Award takes into account all of your
current DXCC totals (not deleted entities) from all the bands 160 thru 6
meters. For example, if you have 100 confirmed on 80, 100 on 40, 200 on
20, 101 on 15 and 100 on 10 your total would be the 601 you note. Once
you hit the "1,000" mark you are eligible for a DXCC Challenge Plaque
and then medallions can be added to the plaque in increments of 500, for
example at the 1500 mark, 2000, 2500, and finally the infamous 3000
mark!
It is simply an award for DX'ers to achieve special recognition for your
total, current, DXCC entities from all the bands 160 thru 6 meters.
Hope this makes sense.
