Hi San,
Would like to get them on 80m, but the static level has been horrible! I have the C9 on 10m worked, but not confirmed. No 160m antenna here, just never seem to get healed up to work on the tower these days!

Meant to say “to each his own” (not “on) , in the last paragraph…hi Clumsy thinking after a long day here doing 4 hours of yard work and hoping the C9 will show up on 160m at our sunset. HA No chance with my dipole at 36 feet but will listen, just in case! Need for ATNO. Rick or Joel, can I use your antenna systems for an hourly remote access fee?
Everyone have a great upcoming week!

RRR Jay. Yep, an example of nonsense for me would be when I call someone on a band/mode that I do not need, and I call just to break a pileup and get in the ClubLog check mark for a band/mode. Hopefully I did not knock someone out of a QSO that really needed the DX station I called. I do not need to reconfirm to myself that I know when, where and how to call a DXpedition station in big pileup. Been doing it for many decades!
I try to limit calling only IF I need the band/mode and I don’t need many of them. So, now I could care less if I have NO checkmarks or just a couple of confirmed QSOs, and not having to make 12-15 QSOs as some do on every DXpedition that shows up. They are always at the top of the NA list of 100 in the ‘standings’ and 90% are just chasing for something they do not need per se. I did that a few years ago but not so much now. Time wasted as my friend said, when I could be paying more attention family and friends and other hobby interests and off ham radio for a while. Like my good buddy W0RT in Kansas who just said “to heck with DX” and seldom does ham radio.
The main thing that was nonsense for me years ago was my going on several 3-5 weeks DXpedition trips to mostly rare or “new” DXCC countries as a solo operator and leaving my young kids with my understanding wife. I can not take back the nonsense actions I took and lessened activity with my family, but aging has changed my attitude towards a more positive life position regarding to my hobby. To each his on. Most of us can see “what’s going on” and by whom and wonder what is being given up in life by so many of them. IIWII

That is true enough San!
I saw a spot from 3A2MW and got really excited until I saw his bio on QRZ.com. His noise level is high and no skeds. I understand he doesn’t want to be tied down. Apparently spotted by an 9K2OW.
Still looking for my first 3A station. 73 de jay..

A non-ham friend and I have talked about generalities of life over many years through our church affiliation, and today after our Sunday School class he sent me something that might cross over in some small way to our ham hobby as I sat deliberating things. 😉 Might apply to some of us who have been in ham radio and DXing for 50-65 years …..
He said : “ Life humbles you as you age. You realize how much time you wasted on nonsense.” 😊 Gulp!
