I need to get my mind out of the gutter. When Pat said he had joined a
local "dive club" I immediately thought he had been hanging out in some
pretty shady bars during his Navy days, then I realized he was into
"scuba" diving!!!! :-)))

> Nice catch Lanny. Your fan dipole is working well. I was stationed at the Naval Communication Station on Guam in '70-71. I joined a local dive club, Marianas Divers, and got my air from a shop in Agana. My buddy and I went diving almost every day. Flash forward to 2011. I worked Ed, KH2L, on 80CW one morning and he had a really big S9+ signal. I though someone was messing with his call and sent him an email. After a few email "overs" we determined that he was the "Ed" that had filled my tanks for me years earlier.

A lady named Patty Jo Hoff, a Professor at Univ or Guam, hosted the party at her home on the west coast of the island. She asked where I was from on the "mainland". I told her Arkansas. She asked where in Arkansas. I said a farm near Houston. She asked if I had a sister named Frances? I replied yes I do. Turns out Patty Jo was my sister's roommate at Hendrix and had been to our house several times. I would have only been 6-7 years old at the time. I sent my sis a letter saying "you'll never guess who I had lunch with".
