Thanks Pat you were right! Please see attached. It was worth the effort for sure!! I had to repeat my call twice, but he got me. Good op for sure! Funny I didn’t go to bed and kept looking at the UTC clock while tuning around 40m CW. I had the headphones on and waiting for him when he popped up slightly higher in frequency. It was like hearing modulated noise and that was a super 599 kind of noise to me. 😊 Then he faded out and I thought it was a good thing jumping on him at the beginning, but later he built up in signal strength. Then played around with settings to see if I could improve the copy in case I need to do a repeat tomorrow morning. I used the APF for the first time and that made copy super nice. So I listened to him work a pile of JA’s and a few NA guys. It was so hard to resist the temptation to call him again just to be sure I was in the log when the signal came way up.

Then I kept checking LOTW while praying and hoping he would do an upload after his on the air session, hi. While all the images inside my head of being NIL, hi. I even looked up his last upload to LOTW and wrote that down.

Two more to go to be a first timer! Thanks so much, time to go to bed now I guess if I can only calm down some!! 73 de w5jay/jay..
