Great going to our 3 members getting ‘em on 160m. Effort and know how and when to be there and listen, listen, listen.. Good job!

I was pretty proud of being #2 in NA with 7QAA Malawi in March 2015 with 18 band modes behind only K5RK. Looking at my checked band/modes I did NOT work them on 160m then. I did use RTTY but the advent of more and more FT8/FT4, etc has made some big differences the past 5 years. Earl can vouch for that. And with RTTY losing out to FT8 more and more, the band modes of those of us not doing FT8 has gone down a lot. Hey, IIWII. That’s part of our DXing hobby and ups and downs, and you compete the best you can with what you got. Been there, done that for 63 years now. 😉

The 160m QSOs by our 3 members is a great accomplishment, and thank God for great antenna systems and the time they have spent putting up those antennas and putting the ADXA on the map. I have never worked 7Q on 160m but did work it on 80m 5 years ago. No certificates to brag about on any of the DXpeditons statistics on OQRS and Club Log, only QSLs in the files or the check marks on Club Log band modes going back a few years for all to see. 😊
On this 7Q7 trip, I like others, wish they had done more SSB on a predictable basis and on more bands. Heard /? worked them on 40SSB but my QSO not in log, never heard them on 21SSB, and 10m CW would have been nice. Maybe next time. I know they had to work on low band antennas, fight QRN and weak signals and deal with power losses. Being on ‘that side’ is not always fun despite advanced planning, etc.
San Farewell 7Q7RU … now, who is next ? ? ?

I heard them one time on 80m and one time on 40m. They would quit right after I was focused in on them. I did hear K5UR  bust the pileup on 40 meter CW and then they fade it out on me.

Congrats to the guys that work them on 160m that's a real accomplishment. 73 Jay

Changing the subject. Both Joel and Rick made it on 160 meters with 7Q7RU last
evening. :-)))

I even copied the on my Pixel Loop for about 10 to 15 minutes. But of course
they didn't copy me as my transmit antenna is an inverted vee.

Haven''t heard them on 80m yet.
