E.J.,
I’ve always pointed the monsters in to the wind. Boom length and element size/location is the determinate on overall structural loading. Boom length has a torque and moment arm multiplying effect on the system. I’d check the forecast for wind direction and velocity and park it accordingly.

I think that depends on the beam EJ. With my Hexbeam I don't think it matters. When I had the Somer up in California we used to get some nasty winds out of the West and I would park the Somer broadside to the wind to minimize torque on the elements. I never had a problem with it.

Which direction do yall point your antenna for storms? I usually point boom west. I have a new HF beam (OptiBeam) that is going up this spring and the seller recommends pointing elements into wind.
