TU comment Steve. Hope things all OK in Memphis, my old home from 1952- Dec 1956. Have fond memories on the summer of 56 and having been to Elvis’ home on Audubon Drive on 3 occasions. I was 13 and Elvis 21. He called me the East High Kid. My best friend was 16 and knew DJ Fontanna, Elvis’ drummer. That’s how I got introduced. Hated to move back to AR on Jan 1, 1957 and give up all that new segment of my life and some increase girlfriends as a result!! 😊
Anyway, to make my last 20 years or so of QSOs into electronic format would do me no good, as I only want paper cards and do not do but 3 of the many ARRL band DXCC endorsements in which LoTW would be helpful and save me postage, but still, NO QSL in paper form. And the DXpeditions surely do NOT NEED my confirmation on LoTW, just like they don’t need our QSLs…. the purpose of on-line OQRS PayPal system and the DXpeds beg you to NOT send paper QSLs if possible. HI HI
Have a great day there. I will stop to see you on my next memory trip to Memphis that I take every 3-4 years. Sonny Flinn puts me on his talk show on WHBQ; he is a great friend from East High days and owns most or part of all the main radio and TV stations in Memphis and elsewhere. He is a ham operator but seldom gets on the air, think a General Class and a non DXer. He is an MD also, a radiology oncologist of note in all of Tenn with several clinics.

San, it would be worth paying some out-of-work person to upload them into a logging program. Then upload to LOTW. I think it would be fun to see how many matches you got. In any event, that is a lot of great history.

I must admit that I have about 45 log books here, mostly the larger ARRL and Yaesu logbooks. I never converted any QSOs to digital because I have not had to use LoTW to save postage because I always wanted paper QSLs on hand in my multiple shoe boxes here.
Years ago in the 1957-60 timeframe you had to log in your CQs by FCC standards, and sometimes a page would be filled with unanswered CQs and maybe only ONE QSO per page. Slowly most hams put down a starting point at the rig and logged in the first CQ only, until a QSO happened. Later, CQs were not logged at all.
I enjoy going back in time and seeing who I worked, including local W5 call area guys on our morning gatherings on 3918 or 3847, with some minor frequency changes over the years. Mainly it was me, W5HJA, W5TIZ, Sid Phillips in Texas, Ed Moorey in Dewitt, a couple of Little Rock guys like Moritz Sholmeier, etc and others around the state and in Memphis. It was a true “chat” morning gathering starting at about 6:30AM til about 9AM. For me it was 1957-65 or so, as I had NO rig during my first year of marriage. Fun days in the 1950s! I checked in from time to time over the years, as did W5SJ and others.
So, only paper logs here and they will be thrown out when I die, so says my family, including all 5000 QSLs and all DXpedition logs and QSLs… I will roll over in my grave! 😊
San Have a great week guys!
