I must admit that I have about 45 log books here, mostly the larger ARRL and Yaesu logbooks. I never converted any QSOs to digital because I have not had to use LoTW to save postage because I always wanted paper QSLs on hand in my multiple shoe boxes here.

Years ago in the 1957-60 timeframe you had to log in your CQs by FCC standards, and sometimes a page would be filled with unanswered CQs and maybe only ONE QSO per page. Slowly most hams put down a starting point at the rig and logged in the first CQ only, until a QSO happened. Later, CQs were not logged at all.

I enjoy going back in time and seeing who I worked, including local W5 call area guys on our morning gatherings on 3918 or 3847, with some minor frequency changes over the years. Mainly it was me, W5HJA, W5TIZ, Sid Phillips in Texas, Ed Moorey in Dewitt, a couple of Little Rock guys like Moritz Sholmeier, etc and others around the state and in Memphis. It was a true “chat” morning gathering starting at about 6:30AM til about 9AM. For me it was 1957-65 or so, as I had NO rig during my first year of marriage. Fun days in the 1950s! I checked in from time to time over the years, as did W5SJ and others.

So, only paper logs here and they will be thrown out when I die, so says my family, including all 5000 QSLs and all DXpedition logs and QSLs… I will roll over in my grave! 😊
San Have a great week guys!
