Just got back from Ham-cation in Orlando. Big event with big crowds. Wish
there was more younger hams but there was some. It's good event if you ever
get a chance to go.

Joel, you (or anyone else) have any luck on 160 with E4 since your last
post? We have had prop into middle east if they can hear us

The reflector must be refracting rather than reflecting....not much
traffic!!! Kim and I were out all last week on business so it was gud to get
back last evening, fire up the rig and get my sanity restored!

We currently have 5I5TT (and 5I4ZZ on Digi) on from Tanzania 5H. This is
Silvano and his Italian team who always do a great job. They have a noise
issue on 160 that appears at night, most likely from the lighting system
where they are. They're working to resolve it. I did manage to work them on
160 last night for #281 on that band.

The F6KOP French team have fired up from Palestine, E44CC. I only need this
one on 160 so I'm gunning for them there. They, like 5I5, are struggling
with severe noise on the low bands. Manu, F8FKI, tells me via email they
have laid out a BOG in the garden at the hotel where they are in hopes of
reducing the noise level. Their xmit signal last night was excellent, they
just couldn't hear anything due to the severe noise!
They also experienced a storm last night (high wind, snow) that damaged some
of the antennas. They have repaired what they could today and are continuing
to get everything back up. I see they are now being spotted on several bands
so should be OK. I worked them on 80 and 40 last night.
They had gud sigs and the ops are doing a fine job. I saw a few ADXA folks
in the pileup last night.

HU1DL is still on from El Salvador and we have the South Orkney VP8
DXPedition coming up in about two weeks.

Let's get in there and get a bunch of ADXA folks in these logs!

If you missed K5EJ's "DX'ing on a Budget" presentation at our annual
conference you have another chance to catch it this Thursday night (February
13) in Searcy at the North Central Arkansas Amateur Radio Service (NCAARS)
club meeting. If you want to attend and need directions to the meeting
location contact me, N5QS, N5QT, N5LKE or just about any of the Searcy mafia
folks!

And don't forget our 1st Quarterly Meeting March 7 at the ARRL Delta
Division Convention and ARVARF-Russellville hamfest. Our program will be
Bill Priakos, W5SJ on the TX7T DXPedition.

Turn on your rig......I want to hear more ADXA folks in the pileups!!!!
There are east coast and W6's that need recalibrated!!! :-)))
