I hadn’t met Frank and I don’t think he was at our June 2019 meeting in Hot Springs, but I recognized his name. He’s a neighbor of a guy I used to work with in Vermont and Frank relied on him for any number of projects including a railing a couple years ago on the stairs that Frank fell down Monday. Frank had a black eye and complained of a stomach ache and Madge called my friend this morning to help get him in the car to go to the doctor. My friend did not know he was a Silent Key until my text to him.
Let’s hope for a happier New Year!

Still more sad news this year. Frank would always chase me in my travels and I looked forward to seeing him
and Madge at ADXA meetings and the Dallas Ham-Com. I talked to them on the phone a couple of months ago
as I had told him about an SWL card I saw on E-bay that Frank had sent in the early 50s. He was able to purchase
it and called to thank me about the tip. He will be missed for sure. RIP my friend - Rick AI5P

It is with a sad, heavy heart that I must report to you that our dear ADXA fried and member Frank Kollatt, W5BPT, is a Silent Key.
Madge called a few minutes ago with the news. Although Frank did have a number of medical issues this was somewhat unexpected. He passed away around 10 AM this morning.
Frank was an excellent example to follow in his operating and the way he conducted himself on the air. ADXA bestowed an "Honorary Life Membership" to Frank a few years ago.
No details on a service other than it will be in Palestine, Texas as Frank's request.
On behalf of ADXA, our hearts and sympathy go out to Madge and the Kollatt family.
Sad 73,
Joel W5ZN
