ADXA Folks,

How many times has someone helped you out with a "new one"? Maybe you
contacted someone for a new DXCC, a WAS or a new zone. If not, how many
times have you worked someone on a self funded solo DXpedition that gave
you a new one? When someone needs "YOU" for a new one, do you oblige?

I've had two very recent opportunities. Saturday during the ARRL 10
meter contest, NQ7Q called me and we worked. He is in Wyoming and I
logged the Q. I was running at a good rate with others calling in at the
time. A couple of minutes later NQ7Q called again. I thought "well its a
dupe but maybe he didn't log it right" so I came back to him. He said
"Uh, sir, if I can bother you I know your busy but Arkansas is the LAST
state I need for 10 meter WAS. Can I please send you an SASE and get a
card for our contact?" I was a bit taken back that someone needed
Arkansas! So, I said "NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT! Do NOT send me an SASE. I will
gladly put a card in the mail to you Monday morning". I thought the guy
was going to cry because he just completed a WAS, a BIG DEAL for him and
it was a big deal for me also to give him #50.

Last week, BIG GUN Frank, W5BPT, contacted me and said he had worked
Ulf, OH2BCK on 30 meters. Ulf needed Arkansas on 160 meters for state
#50 and asked Frank if they could set up a sked. Frank told him he
didn't believe his 160 meter antenna would make the trip but said he
would contact some of his ADXA buddies and see if they could sked. Frank
forwarded me the info and I contacted Ulf. Last night, at 0423z I
completed with Ulf giving him State #50 on 160 meters. His very sincere
email is below. Please read it and feel his excitement! Makes me as
excited as he is and seriously almost want to cry because folks are out
there, on the air, pursuing their goals! We've talked about goals and
some of you have shared yours here and are achieving them.

I love working a new one I need, regardless of what it is, and lets all
be willing and proud to pass out a new one to someone else. And even in
this fast paced "confirm it right now" LoTW world we live in folks still
like QSL cards. Do you keep some on hand?? I hope so just for moments
like these. Think of what it means to that person to whip out YOUR QSL
card and tell all his buddies "This dude was my last one needed and I've
go this card!!!" (HEY! put an ADXA logo on your cards!)

Thanks to everyone for being on the air and active. ADXA is a proactive
group and the entire world knows it. Our reputation is outstanding.
Thanks for getting us there and maintaining it!
