Very interesting history of amateur radio. From 1921 to 1924, radio
amateurs experimented with transmitting across the Atlantic. The first test
was in February 1921. It was a failure. None of the 25 selected stations
were heard by the British listeners.
The second test was in December 1921. During this test, 8 spark and 18 CW
stations were heard in Europe. The cover of the January 1922 issue of QST
listed the successful transmitting stations.

In my collection, I have this QSL of 1BGF, Perry Briggs of Hartford, CT. He
was one of the 18 CW stations. His QSL is for a contact in May, 1922, just
a few months after his historic accomplishment.
