Thanks, Rick, for the spot. Can't use 15m at the moment.
I have a G5RV and here's a pic of SWR on it for all except 80m. I've damaged my TS-480 running it on the high SWR bands at high power settings (80-90w) for DX on ft-8. It doesn't smoke, but smells like burning metal when I try to transmit. Opened the case and there is no sign of burned circuitry, but the TX boards have the smell I was smelling. I'll be sending it in for repair.
I discovered a few weeks ago when I noticed unusually high SWR on the power meter and I could not make a simple contact, the Alpha Delta arrestor on the antenna had shorted out. I replaced the fuse, and it was better, but when I by-passed the whole arrestor, the SWR was a point lower on all bands. It had been up to 4-4.5 on 15m and about 5.5 with the blown fuse. So I'm not a fan of the arrestors any more. Seems they can cause issues even with a good fuse. I was using the 2KW version, so maybe I should have been using the 500KW one.
Anyway, I had already ordered an IC-7100 for portable use and as a backup. It doesn't have a tuner, so I'm careful to keep it under 50 watts and only on 40m where the SWR is 1.5 or less.
In the meantime, I also have a new PAR Quad Band Half Wave End Fed to put up over the holidays. So I'll have a well tuned 40-20-15-10m antenna. Need to come up with a 80m homebrew dipole so I can finish DXCC on 80m.
Any other tips appreciated.

Scott/W5AAJ

Still after Western Sahara and Mali
Scott, TZ1CE is on 21.028. You mentioned that you were limited to 40 meters, if you are using a 40 meter dipole, it will tune on 15 so give it try.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
Received a card for 5E1EC (commemorative call for CN8EC) today for a FT4 contact on 20m from the end of October via a Russian QSL manager.
Still after Western Sahara and Mali that have been showing up recently, but I'm limited to 40m at the moment.

Scott/W5AAJ
