I love LoTW simply because it affords a very quick confirmation (without
QSL card expense) and also provides a very quick and effortless DXCC
submission. What I really miss, and was reminded of this a few days ago
while searching through some old cards, is seeing the QSL card designs
from Africa, Middle East and Asia. Some enchanting cards, to say the
least, of distant lands.

Sadly, today's young folks don't seem to care about that. I remember
K5UR relating his presentation to a high school group a few years ago
about amateur radio and he had some really neat QSL cards displayed.
Their interest in them was zero!

When they can watch live color images from Mars these days that makes a
remote broadcast from the other side of the world old and, as my
youngest granddaughter and her friends say "BORING!". It still gets me
all excited, though, and I still love seeing them! Thanks for sharing,
Scot.

p.s. K5EJ - other day I was looking through some older QSL cards IARU
had on displayed and I saw your QSL in the group for a contact with BV2A
back in 1988 or 1989. I need to look that up as I may have been the op.
When I was making runs back and forth over there during that time Tim
would come over and meet me at the station downtown Taipei, not too far
from my hotel, and let me operate.
