Not DXCC, but still interesting.

Last night I was on 80m FT8 working on my DXCC there. (I'll take them any
way I can get them.) Added a couple contacts and now waiting on them to
upload to LoTW. Still need about 40. I had not had a real, workable 80m
(or 160m) antenna until about a year ago when I put up a few EFHW's so I'm
way behind the curve. Anyway, back to the story.

I was just happily watching for that next DXCC and out of the blue I saw
KV0I calling CQ. That in itself wasn't all that interesting, but I had
been chasing James and another operator from NE for my final CW contact to
finish out my Triple Play. We worked on FT8 and noticed he was also using
JTAlert and the F5 messaging. I texted him and ask if he could work me on
CW to complete the Award. He said yes.

We moved to CW, a bit down the band, where it took a few tries to make it,
but we finally did. During all of this, John, WB5BHS, was listening on
HamShack Hotline. We both uploaded the contact to LoTW almost immediately,
thus completing my Triple Play. I finally beat John at something ham
radio.

Interesting thing about all of this was from back in 2014 when ARRL had
their Centennial Event, I did a couple 5WAS on SSB and PSK or RTTY to
complete those columns. As each section began to wind down, I shifted to
CW and worked 45 states as well during the event. Since then I've added 4
on CW, but NE was so elusive. Watched PSKReporter and only saw 2 or 3 CW
stations during CW events and James was one of the most consistent ones.

Another item completed. And no, I won't order the high dollar wallpaper as
no one hardly ever visits my shack and thus no one but me would see ever
them. However, the ARRL and I both know that I've completed them.
