Having grown up in Central Florida plus learning to fly there, very familiar with lightning. My younger brother hit while playing golf, was in concrete block shelter, hit pine tree, blew six foot hole in shelter wall leaving no trace of debris. Killed his partner, left him unable to walk.
No knowledge of ham being injured while on air. Be aware lightning strikes can occur in full sunshine ahead of approaching t-storm. Kills people like that all the time on FL beaches. If you or your friends hair stands up in vicinity of storm, know you’re about to die.
