[ADXA] Hawaii booming on 10 meters

This was the first time I can remember that I didn't either hear about the
contest until it was half over or when it was already a week in the past. I
spent time Friday getting all my software stuff to work - N1MM+ talking to
DX Keeper and separate serial ports for N1MM+ and WinKeyer. It all worked
pretty well.
I also chose "assisted" and "high power". First time I've used the AL-811
in a contest except a couple times on 160. I found out that 500 W to a wet
noodle doesn't guarantee a QSO or busting a pileup. But I'm sure it helped.
I used my 275 W Johnson Matchbox to give me a decent match and the antenna
was the 134' inverted L on all bands. I worked stations on all bands 80
through 10 (one QSO). I used a spotting network (DX Heat) but found that
just because 15 meters has a page of good spots doesn't mean I can hear any
of 'em.
I just plugged at it in between football games, TV shows, eating out,
jogging, and going to bed at 10:30 PM. I did get up fairly early to try 80
and maybe some decent sunrise propagation on 40 but that didn't pay huge
dividends. I was mostly looking for countries and to an extent,
band-countries.
I made 105 Qs, 61 countries, 81 band-countries and 34,727 points. Don't
think I worked any new countries though.
First guy I heard Saturday morning on 80 was K5FUV. Heard N5DX and worked
his pop, ZF9CW.
