So frickin funny!! The toaster, coffee pot, small light, small paper pad and pencil, old speaker and crappy headphones, droopy eyes, a “hex” beam INSIDE to help his signal (ha), wall map of world, horrible AC lines frayed hanging off the SMALL table (can’t really see the actual rig), the mouse and dumb slobbering dog… HEY, I’ve been there before!!!!!!! Haven’t we all??

Thanks for telling us that we need to update our rigs and antennas, Bill. Fortunately I have Bouvet on 5 bands but not on RTTY and not on 160-40. Chuck Brady was there in 2001 and was on SSB daily and with moderate pileups, in fact he would chat a few seconds with many guys… 1st QSO was 1978 with 3Y5DQ Thore (LA5DQ); 1979 was 3Y1VC John (LA1VC), then January -Feb 2001 4 bands ( 4 separate, beautiful scenery QSLs ) with 3Y0C Chuck Brady who was Medical Officer for a Norwegian Antartic Research team. Something will happen again in the next year or so, and as stated by others, it will likely be the LAST operation from Bouvet for many, many years. The older guys will have just one chance to get 3Y for an ATNO.

Maybe Dom will try for #1 DXCC most wanted North Korea again? Hmmm I would give $3.50 for a CW QSL via ClubLog. HI OK, maybe $20 …… For now, just trying to get the XR0 to get on SSB on SOME band other than 20m. The website says no RTTY… duh, we all know that by now. An attempt at 24mc CW would be nice; surely there is a 20-30 second opening during the day due south?

San
