[ADXA] Technician Enhancement

Steve,

If you read my email you probably got my drift on how I feel about it. The addition of digital modes in mostly unused spectrum already allocated to Techs on 15, 40 and 80m is a good idea for 2019, especially if we want something that would help get and retain younger folks in the hobby. However, I am not too enthused about the added SSB privileges that may well serve as a disincentive to upgrade for many, but again, we must look at attracting and more importantly retaining new and younger amateurs if we are to survive as a hobby. I would suggest modification of the NPRM, reducing or even eliminating the SSB spectrum as proposed while retaining the addition of digital modes on the already allocated Tech HF sub-bands.  Techs are allowed to operate these modes on 10m so why not? That's just my personal $0.02 worth...

I don't think there is a club position on this one.

Not trying to open up a can of worms but does the ADXA have an official
position on Technician Enhancement.  Thought I would ask before I commented.
