[ADXA] China on 6m?

Hi Rick!

One has to go where the action is.  Most of the Big Guns are up there as well.  The signals at times are high enough to support SSB and CW.  I do all three here.  I wasn’t on 6m years ago, you old big dog/gun 😊  I am taking my time, but enjoying having a new band/modes challenge!  

 

There has been a couple of us locals in NWA talk about our love/hate relationship with FT8.  On the one hand, the computers are doing most of the heavy lifting.  Still to do the real work one had to put in the time and work on the station to stand out.  Even on FT8.  My hate is it has ruined the watering holes for the other modes like CW.  

 

Even during the contest, I only worked a few CW stations and about 3 times SSB.  The next day I had a 2 hour long QSO on SSB!  So the band will support it if the ops will do other modes.  

 

Maybe some day I will get the thrill of the other modes.

I worked China, BA4SI, and BV also, on 6 meters a few years ago, human to human, none of that digital stuff where you can't hear the station. (hi).

Good one.  I saw some west coast guys posted him last night and a VK was copying KA9CFD.  Have to listen this evening to see if they are in there again.  I got in a little later and didn’t hear anything good

Guys this seems to be real.  I am pointed in the right direction and printing out BA4SI on 6m FT8.  Even on that mode it is hard for me to believe.  Sadly I don’t have enough power for the BA4 to see me!  ☹

 

I was telling Bill K5FUV that I was seeing some countries all over the UK and now in the far east.  

 

That does it, the manual on the 7 element M2 is on the bench and been looking at 6m amps, hi.

 

BTW, he is a -17 on me right now.  Has been as high as -12
