TU for your take Joel.. I also read most of the Rebel Group posts going back to July 2018,  including comments on Facebook where Martti OH2BH is the team’s international goodwill ambassador or some similar title; that was posted in mid November, 3 months ago. So they got Martti’s support.

The $50 mentioned somewhere was I am sure a culmination of projected costs of $20-25 at a minimum, but as you indicate that can vary greatly.. So, we shall see. I guess $800,000-900,000 given by 15-20, 000 avid DXers is about $50 per person if all 15,000 participate. Projections are useless, like you said, and I will wait and see from today forward.

Here is what the current ADXA thread is referring to regarding Bouvet:

While the $50 amount is not specifically mentioned in this post it has been rumored....let me emphasize RUMOR so nothing is set.
It does, however, open the door for the DXPedition to charge whatever they want after they return and to cover whatever costs (or make a profit!!!!) as they desire.
I'll have no further comment on this until we see what really pans out here. Just wanted to give you some background on what is driving the current thread.
