[ADXA] Logging Software

HI Steve,
DXLab software comes with a suite of programs that is pretty useful. You don't have to use the whole lot at the beginning. If all you are wanting is a nice logging program it has that, plus you can expand as you go along I would recommend it. It is for DXing and not contesting.

What is cool, one can make it as simple or as complex as you would like! DXLab is kept up to date database wise and each program is updated on it's own. However for interoperating with it's other programs some times updates are done on multiple programs.

I mainly use DXLab's Commander for Rig control and bandmap. DXKeeper for logging and uploading to LOTW (BTW DXK has tons of stats to help you ananlyze ). In DXK there is the typical import/export of ADIF. I use DXView so I can figure out where to point the beam and gray line. Any finally I use DXLab's Spotcollector for spots.

It sounds confusing, but really just a suite of programs called DXlab.

Plus it is free! Dave AA6YL keeps it all going in the right direction. He played a huge part in getting LOTW better a while back. Hard to believe he hasn't charged for it yet. Since he is active in chasing DX, he loves to keep making it better as it goes along.

73 de jay/w5jay..

I’ve been using DXBase since the days of DOS. It hasn’t been supported since 2007 but I’m fond of it.

I know at some point, thanks to Bill Gates, I’ll have to ditch it.
Any consensus on best DX software? Not a contester except V/U and use N3FJP for that.

Oh, I did work TO5M on 30 after I figured out they were in FP and not FM. Had to turn antenna. Great op.

Steve, QQ
