Good story QJ and SO common, taking 10-15 mins on a call area with a sequence technique and then for some reason spending 5 -6 minutes on 5 land, despite so many calling. K4 land always has multitudes calling, so the DX usually spends the full time quote on the 4th area. We have all done the same thing, at least getting a quick Granola bar and cup of coffee or a quick “relief” break. Never took a shower if just 1-2 call areas before us… LOL I’ve heard them work 1-2-3-4 and then SKIP to 6 land or 8-9 land before taking a few 5s. Chasing DX is fun but “capturing” them can be a problem.

Subject: [ADXA] TO5M my long story
So, Sunday Morning @ 8 AM I saw TO5M spotted. I heard the Old Man being blasted by QRM.
Real soon he said "UP 5". A few Seconds later he said "Up five, 1s only".
That worked for him. I listened. He worked Ones for @ 20 mins. Then he said "Twos only, TO5m number 2 up five". He worked twos for @20 mins.
I waited, I listened. -- I layed out my church clothes. I brushed my teeth. I kept waiting and listening. I shaved my chin. I kept listening. 20 mins later..... He started working Threes.....
I figured I had 35 -40 mins until he got to FIVES so I got in the shower.... Suddenly through the noise of the water I heard the Old Man say TO5M FIVES! -- I didnt rinse, I didnt even dry off. I jumped out of the shower grabbing my towel and ran to the radio! --- He worked @ 8 FIVES. none were ME. (yea, I got BEAT by 8 other Hams.). Then he said "'OK, Sixes".... I called one more time, but he didnt budge from "Sixes".
I gave up, got back in the shower and rinsed.
Went on to Church & Wal-Mart.
--------------------------
THEN THIS AFTERNOON,,, Don Banta said TO5M was still on 14.250 !
I worked them easily this afternoon,,,,
after having tried SO HARD this morning.
Is there a moral to this Story? Yes, and you already know what it is.

That's my Story, and I'm sticking to it....
