Good effort on working the band modes or just for an ATNO on some bands during the good VP6D effort. Chasing DX is fun and does take some time and effort. Was good to see Earl N5ZM and Jay (W5JAY) do extremely well and end up in the top group in “5 land” with some help by (cough cough) FT8 slots filled. Rick UR seemed to work them a couple of times when nobody else in W5 land was getting thru. They would be a 1X1 or 2X2 at my place, so I just listened and no decent peak here. Sorry to see some of our ADXA members not getting a couple of slots, but we all do have other things besides ham radio and DXing. I am sure that was the case in many instances. Saw central AR ADXA members posted on DXA from time to time, and I am sure they covered up each other in the pileups. HI
K5XH, K5JUC, W5SJ and K5VR in NW AR and others were in there fighting at various times during the day and night. I for one am happy to not have to get up at 5:30-6AM to get them on 160 and 80 or stay up til 2AM a couple of times. All that while trying to fight the crowd chasing YJ0GC when Stan finally looked for NA at the proper NA propagation time. He tends to favor EU where he speaks at many DX gatherings. Otherwise he was staying on the lower bands much of the time, so have not worked him on 28 during our NA prop times. Did manage him on 24 CW. He leaves in 2-3 days. Not real rare but good enuff to chase with a moderate pileup.
Good lies to tell during the December ADXA meeting and forums.
