Great for you Bill.. I was up looking for them on 3.8 SSB at 6AM -7AM but no luck. Had 2 doctor appointments and now checking emails.. They are strong on 21 now and I posted to try RTTY but they do not read DX Summit. HI HI Still no SSB on 10m but notice someone has duped me twice and gave me an FT8 QSO.. Now that is funny.. Never on FT8 in my life!

Hope you had a great time in Italy and gained 10 # from eating. Sorry you will miss the annual ADXA event again this December. I too am interested in seeing W3UR again. Joel has managed a good forum of speakers.

I’m pumped!

David, I heard you work him.  He was absolutely booming in, +30 over S9, the strongest I've heard him on any band.  He is S2 now so doesn't look good for SSB today.  That's OK, CW contacts are definitely the highest priority.

Earl, yes I noted the RTTY Roundup change - it's a new day.  However, I'm not sure FT8 contacts will be as quick as RTTY.  It's amazing to see how quickly contacts can be made on RTTY.  I have done quite a bit of it at times but not too much in recent years.  I like the sound of it - sounds like music, and FT8 sounds like a hive of buzzing hornets.  I'm interested to see how FT8 will affect Field Day - should be an absolute zoo.

San - yes, aging is causing us all to make changes and think about the future.  I've been writing notes for the family like "This is a Schurr Profi 3 - don't throw it away".   Yes, it is a real Profi 3.  Not very many of them were made.  I think people have already figured out how to completely automate FT8 so they don't even have to be home and it can work autonomously.  I suppose that is illegal on HF, but so are many other things that are done.  I'm looking forward to seeing you and everyone in December.  While I've been writing this, VP6D is up to S9 now so will hope for SSB.

Great job, Dennis..  I am just not into FT8 at this point in my DXing life but glad so many of our ADXA members like the hound/fox etc chasing and hearing the weak ones. Just wish when signals are so loud and FT8 not needed, that they would do a couple of more bands on RTTY before leaving in 3 days. Only needed on RTTY and happy to have them in my log. Guess no 60m unfortunately.
Again, congrats on a great job of chasing those band modes. Next VP6D might be in 10+ years, so you can sit back and relax  now. Hi I was gone 3 days and missed 28SSB and 80SSB. No big deal especially since without FT8 I can never catch up with the ‘big dogs’ in the ADXA. LOL

Good VP6D expedition so far:
CW - 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12, 10
SSB - 40, 20, 17, 15, 12
FT8 - 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12

Except for 160, I need them on 80 SSB and 10 SSB and FT8.
I heard him once on 80 SSB but not really good enough to call him with the DX contest QRM all around.  I did hear Earl work him, though.
I'm not counting on 80, but keeping a close ear on 10 meters and thinking about a 160 meter antenna for the future!

DXA and the VP6D log search show slightly different totals, but that seems to be the result of some FT8 log systems problems.
I'm not too worried about the FT8 contacts, but all were made quickly with about 30 watts and it is fun to watch the process.

Dennis
