I want to add to the details of the "Hamfest paragraph" in Joel's post this
morning,,,,
The Russellville hamfest opening time has been moved to 9 AM and the grand
prize drawing is at 1 PM.
However, We have a big lobby. The Lobby opens at 8 AM. You can come early,
buy a ticket and stay warm while you wait for the main floor to open.
Starting at 8 AM, W5RZ and his Team, will have demonstrations of FT8 and
DMR. They will be making contacts on FT8 and answering questions about
using the mode as well as downloading, installing, and using WSJT-X.
They will be using magnetic loop antennas. If you want to see if a little
“hula hoop” antenna is capable of real communication, this is your chance.
I'll pass with that.

To: adxa <adxa at mailman.qth.net>
Looking forward to seeing everyone next Saturday, March 3, in Russellville
for our first quarterly meeting of 2018.
The hamfest doors open to the public at 9:00 AM. We will host a forum at
11:00 AM, then break for lunch and begin the ADXA meeting at 1:00 PM. The
location info is at:
http://www.arvarf.com/
The Executive Committee will present a proposal to fund the 3B7C
DXPedition for $100.
We will also discuss, but take NO ACTION at this time, the concept of a
reduced membership rate for new members who pop up and want to join
mid-year. This would only be for brand spanking new members, not renewals.
Again, this will only be a concept to discuss and we will take no action
at all regarding this matter.
GL es C U next Saturday in Russellville.
