The new ADXA website has been active now for about 2 weeks and is working
very well. Pat and I have been tweaking and adding some content and three
members have actually taken advantage of the on-line membership
application to renew. If you haven't yet had a chance to take a look at
the website, or if it has been a week or so since you did, please take a
look. News and information will be posted frequently so check the website
for news, etc.

AND......speaking of "membership renewal" - if you have not you renewed
for 2017 please do so. It is very important as these funds are used to
help support very needed DXpeditions. We don't simply send money to any
DXPedition that asks. ADXA policy requires an entity to be in the top 50
most needed before we will review the request. The request is reviewed by
the Executive Committee and then their recommendation submitted to the
members. There is one VERY important DXpedition forthcoming in 2018
(details on our website) that I know for a fact many of you do NOT have,
or you are seriously in need of it on some important bands. So, please
renew today. If you know someone who is interested in DX that is not an
ADXA member, please encourage them to join and sponsor them!

The history of ADXA has been captured and posted on the website. It will
continue to evolve as additional info is captured plus a number of ADXA
"old timers" have photos they will be providing as well. You will note
from the history that 2017 is ADXA's 50th anniversary!!!!!! We are
planning a special event for our June meeting so plan to attend. Specific
details will be made available very soon, you will NOT want to miss the
program so mark June 17 in your calendar and plan to travel to the west or
northwest part of the state. We are working to arrange the attendance of a
very special DX'er!

The bands have been decent even though we continue to see declining
sunspot activity. Upcoming DXpeditions are listed on the website so please
pay attention to those.

Pat and I will be on for the ARRL VHF Contest this weekend. Pat plans to
be roving around and I will be single op from home. Get on and give us a
Q. best place to start will be 2 meters. 144.200 for SSB and if you're FM
bound I will be on 146.55 as well. We can move to some other bands from
there.
