[ADXA] DX in 2017

Well, my 2 cents worth.
I was at 313, working no new ones in 2015 or 2014, then this year got
the H40GC and VP8SGI for two new ones. Never thought I would see 315 two
years ago, especially with my 80m/160m trap dipole at just 36 feet in a
horizontal fashion, broadside N and S... Lucky and a lot of calling and
calling with weak signals. All my signals goes straight up and down, no low
angle radiation at all. 160m is even worse. Will never see 250 on that band,
just so much you can expect on a subdivision lot and a 38 foot tower. hi hi
Good reports guys. Can't work 'em if you don't listen and try calling, no
matter what the antenna ... Only difference is calling for hours or only a
few minutes, like Joel. And the peak on 160/80 could be a short 5-6 minutes
during our sunrise and sunset peaking... I don't play the multiple Band/Mode
DXCCs game with endorsements, so it's all personal pride for me and the
cards go in a box. Never submitted QSLs for a 160m or 6m endorsement
sticker for those DXCC certificates. Each has his own goals and there is so
much to chase as personal goals in DXing.
We have a great hobby that has kept us out of pool halls and bars and
off the golf courses and never fishing all day. I keep telling my wife that
... She knows where I am at all times. But at age 74 I am slowing down a lot
due to decreasing energy levels. Told my sons at Christmas to "just wait"
and they would find out in another 25-30 years. LOL

December's 80 meter Full Moon Propagation was great. On the night of the
full
moon I worked two new ones 9K2HN and A45XR. A couple of days later worked
TR8CA also a new one. All receive was with the Pixel Loop. All confirmed on
LoTW next day. First new ones on 80 in a coons age.
