This is national travel and tourism week.  Some of you know I sit on the
Pinellas County Tourist Development Council which approves the Visit Saint
Pete Clearwater (VSPC) Tourist and Convention bureau budget and advises the
County Board of Commissioners how to spend 40 % of the some $46,000,000 in
tourism bed tax the county will collect this year. The remaining 60% goes to
market the destination. VSPC presented their summer marketing plan to the
trade this past week.  A part of the program was interviews with some of us
in the accommodation business.  I was flattered to be asked to participate
in the piece which I have attached.  If you have a few minutes, take a look.
It really does show some of the great things about Clearwater, St.
Petersburg and our assets.
