[ADXA] Antenna idea

Has anyone  tried or heard of anyone using a vertical array made of end-fed half wave antennas?  I've built several EFHW's and they work very well when hung vertically in a tree.   No counterpoise is needed since it's a half-wave antenna fed at the high voltage point.    I'd like to try it on 40 meters with two or 4, for a DX antenna at home and possibly a Field Day array.   Any ideas?
