VP8STI:
>From Bernie, W3UR at The Daily DX & The Weekly DX:
VP8SGI team expects to arrive early tomorrow to Husvik Bay, South Georgia Is.
If everything goes well, they will be on the air tomorrow afternoon, South
Georgia
time.

David K3LP, co leader of the VP8STI/VP8SGI DXpedition, called yesterday via
sat phone to Bill Hein, AA7XT. Bill tells me that "David sounded tired but
in good
spirits". David reported that they received two to three feet of snow to
go along with the 70
mph winds.

VP8STI final log will be uploaded from South Georgia. Our manager N2OO, will
turn on OQRS once we get those last log files and we make sure that the
full log is
complete. QSL updates will be posted on the VP8STI QRZ page. EA5RM -

CQWW 160 Meter Contest - CW
This weekend is the largest 160 meter DX contest of the year, the CQ World
Wide. It begins at 2200z Friday (4:00 PM local) and runs through 2200z
Sunday. Here is your chance to get on and pick up a few new ones on 160,
even for a small station. Exchange is signal report and CQ Zone. We are in
Zone 4 here in Arkansas.

I leave this morning to fly to New Jersey to be part of the W2GD Team for
this contest. John has long been one of the top 10 or top 5 stations in
the big DX contests each year and he has been on several DXPeditions, most
recently K1N Navassa last February. John is a good friend of mine and
hearing 160 meter signals at a big station sitting right on the salt water
of the Atlantic Ocean in the northeast is truly amazing. If you hear W2GD
on 160 meters this weekend give us a call. Not sure what the operating
schedule is for me yet so it may or may not be me you work. There are five
other top notch ops that will be there for W2GD's multi-op effort.

Sunday afternoon I'll be high tailing it back to Arkansas to start jumping
in the VP8SGI South Georgia pileups!!!

GL es DX.
