K5P Palmyra Atoll is in full swing now. I returned from a business trip
late last night and got up this morning and was able to snag them on 160
meters around 0955z. They had a very good signal and I could copy them on
just about any antenna that was decent for a 160 RX antenna, even my 160
meter xmit vertical which is very noisy on rcv. They seemed to be having a
bit of trouble hearing stations from NA on 160 this morning and were
working a lot of JA's but closer to our sunrise they worked a bunch of NA
stations.

They have been on several bands and modes today and doing very well. They
are only running vertical antennas due to a restriction from the U.S. Fish
& Wildlife so that is why their signal is not as strong at times. For our
new DX'ers, this present a good challenge to learn a bit more about
propagation and peak times to be listening on certain bands.

I am listening to them now on 15 SSB (0015z) and they have a good sig
here. That will, of course, die out as the sun moves west.

They have been on 40 with a very gud sig every morning. I'm not sure what
their 80 meter sked has been but I know a buddy of mine down in south
Texas, K5RK, has worked them on 80. Might lsn in the morning for 80 mtrs.

GL is the pileups and once again CONGRATS to my "little buddy" Rick K5UR
on his election as ARRL President this morning.
