[ADXA] Dues & Don't

Have you paid your 2016 ADXA membership dues yet??? There are still some
outstanding and I want to encourage you to do so today.

Your dues are not spent on anything but DX! If you review many of the
DXPeditions and who their sponsors are you will see the ADXA banner
displayed. We do have criteria for funding support that a DXpedition group
has to meet, we don't simply send money to every DXpedition.

A DXpedition is expensive and without them many of the DXCC entities would
never be activated. The individuals who go on these DXpeditions put up a
lot of their own money as well. For some of the major DXpeditions, each
individual that is a team member will fork over $25,000 to $50,000 of
their own money for the trip but that does not cover all of the expenses.
For a South Sandwich or Heard activation the only way you can you can get
there is by boat and an ocean going vessel is not cheap! Some of the DX
activations cost half a million dollars! As result, after making their own
very significant personal contribution toward a DXpedition the team
solicits funding from DX clubs and individuals. If they did not, and if
the DX community did not financially support them these DXpeditions and
the great excitement we all enjoy would never occur.

So, ADXA's only source of funding for us to be a supporter of DX and
DXpeditions is from your membership dues. If you're not sure you have paid
your 2016 dues just drop Glenn an email and he can check.

If you have not yet renewed (or joined) please do so today. Please pay
your DUES and DON'T let the opportunity of DX excitement disappear!
