Its good to be back home from a 10 day business / personal trip. Sitting
here tonight checking out the "apparatus" and working A25UK on a couple of
bands.

Its a bit of a lull here now that the VERY rare ones have left the islands
but there is still a ton of DX out there that you need to catch. Just
tonight A25UK is on from Botswana and EP2A from Iran is just firing up.

Get on the air and work these stations. Botswana is on fairly regular but
as we have noted here before you never know when a DXCC country will go
silent. Iran is rare and only had small bit of relief last year during a
DXpedition, the first in over 30 years. This is another one and given the
unstable situation we're in today you never know when a place like Iran
will go silent as well. I remember working Iran back in the 70's before
the hostage crisis. After that it was off the air until just recently so
get in those pileups and work EP2A on at least one band if you don't have
them. They're just now getting started tonight on 30 meter RTTY but will
be on other bands in the coming days.

Don't have an antenna for a particular band??? We have commented here over
the past few months about options for wire antennas and Dennis, W5RZ,
recently posted about his success on 30 meters with a wire, as did AI5P
and others. Don't under estimate a wire antenna strategically positioned
to place its major lobe in the right direction. Heck, K5UR will tell you
about all the countries he has worked over the years with just "wire
antennas". I've wanted to throw the flag on him a time or two about some
of those comments but I have actually sat next to him and witnessed some
of those contacts "barefoot with wire antennas" so it is proof you can do
a lot with a piece of wire.

I needed FT4JA Juan de Nova on 30 meters. My 30 meter rotatable dipole
developed an issue so in about an hour I threw together a 30 meter dipole
up about 30 feet and got them in the log. All is takes is the desire and
initiative to JUST DO IT! (credit to Nike).

GL es DX to all in the hunt.
