New stat updates from Rick, K5UR. Those are some serious numbers MR. Roderick!
Keep up the good work and you'll be the last one standing at the Dayton DX
Dinner in about 25 years!

In addition to having 151 DXCC entities confirmed on 6M Rick also holds Fred
Fish Memorial Award #3 for confirming all 488 grid squares in the contiguous 48
states on 6M. Fred Fish, W5FF (SK), was the first to accomplish the feat and
the ARRL created the award in 2008 as part of the VUCC program and presented
FFMA #1 to W5FF posthumously through his wife Lee, K5FF. Pat Rose, W5OZI was
granted FFMA #2 just a few hours before Rick received FFMA #3.

Frank, N7FF, this sounds like an award you need to pursue. You could be the
second "FF" to receive it!

I got an e-mail from Pat, W5OZI, a few years back and he related the story of
his "VHF Elmer", Joe Patterson, W5VY (AKA Pat and a SK since 2000)......the
previous holder of my call. He thought I might be related to Joe....I'm not as
far as I know. Joe was apparently a VHF/UHF pioneer and big time 6M op with a
lot of "firsts" on the magic band. He worked as a civilian RF Engineer for the
Air Force Security Service in San Antonio and did a lot of work on
VHF/UHF/Microwave ELINT and RADAR countermeasures technology.

The ante has been raised. Work some new ones and grab a few grid squares while
you're at it.

73,
Pat, W5VY
