Could one of you "seasoned" (I didn't say "aged") DXers enlighten me on how
to determine the DXCC entity for VP8AQA. I worked Dave on 10M SSB back in
December, 1983 at the British Antarctic Service, Faraday Station. The
station appears to have been located on Galindez Island just off the west
coast of the Palmer Peninsula. That appears to be quite a bit south of the
South Shetland island group but VP8-S seem to be the "best" fit among the
VP8 choices.
Don't think I made the grade on BS7H. I'll have to wait for the logs to be
posted to see if by some chance I worked them on 30M. They were strong here
a couple of mornings on 30 but the jammers and Cops were stronger. I'm
pretty sure I heard my call but not did not hear the confirmation. I saw a
report that they made 45,000 Qs. That's pretty amazing when you consider
the conditions they endured! It was a great effort on their part.
