To all card checkers:
As you know effective July 1, 2006 there was a DXCC fee change. You will
note that these fees do not include shipping.
This also applies to applications checked by card checkers.
When you check an application please be sure to collect a return
shipping fee. If not, applicants may receive a credit slip showing an
amount due to ARRL.
Since it depends on weight we cannot determine the exact fee until it is
ready to be shipped. However, here is a guide to use for collecting the
shipping fee:
$1.00 - USA
$3.00 - Non-USA
*This is only for paper applications. *
If the applicant is requesting a certificate, additional shipping is
required:
This fee covers a mailing of up to 3 certificates:
$1.50 USA
$4.00 Non-USA
For example, if someone has an application for a Mixed endorsement and
they are asking for a Phone and 40 Meter certificate, there is a
submission fee (depending on membership and a first or subsequent
submission charge as noted in rule 15). Each additional certificate is
$12. Since there will be 2 mailings, one with the paperwork and a
separate mailing for the certificates, the total postage collected
should be $3 for a USA mailing or $7 for a non-USA mailing. (Any
remaining funds will be placed into the applicants account for future use).
Since you are not able to determine the shipping costs at your end,
these estimates should work out OK for everyone.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
