      ------ OKLAHOMA ANNOUNCEMENTS ------

A COMMUNICATORS WANTED for the 4th Annual Ronald McDonald
House / Joanna Yinger Foundation Benefit Triathlon, on
Sunday Morning, 7 August 2005, in the Lake Hefner area.
Fifteen volunteer radio amateurs with VHF gear needed.

A* FCC PROPOSES DROPPING MORSE CODE TEST REQUIREMENT
The FCC has proposed to eliminate the 5 WPM Morse code element
for obtaining a license of any class. Dropping the Morse code
requirement would not become final until the Commission
gathers additional public comments, and will conclude with a
Report and Order specifying the changes and an effective date.
That's not likely to happen for several months. A 60-day
period for the public to comment on the NPRM&O will begin
once the notice appears in the Federal Register.

A For up-to-the-minute info on OKC area Amateur activities,
join the EARS information net Monday evenings at 8:PM local
on the Edmond repeater at 147.135+ and 443.425+ MHz.

Updates and additions welcome in Oklahoma.
