After a long day (actually losing one crossing the date line), I
find myself in Wellington where it is much cooler since winter
started after Easter. Glad I remembered to bring warm clothes.
Congrats on the folks who managed to hear me from ZK1.
Just a few heads-up about the Chatams.
No palm trees... in fact, maybe no trees ... so not sure what
kind of antenna support I might find. So I might not be able
to put up the windom (it was about 50 ft up at zk1). If that is
the case, I will just have the 17m bazooka and some 20 meters of
speaker wire I bought to make some of my infamous dipoles. At least
this time I have some insulators and won't have to use empty film
canisters!
Also... may or may not have e-mail access there. So if I don't send
anything or answer you ... I don't.
Bottom line... listen hard particularly on 17 and 30m CW and spot
me if you hear me!
Had about 2K Q's from zk1 which surprised me... had a chance to
look at my log during a 7 hr layover in Auckland today!
Probably the earliest on the air will be April 16.
