4S7, SRI LANKA. "OOPPSS! It is my fault!", states Rudi, DK7PE. Members
from Lufthansa Amateur Radio Club(LARC) will be here from February 3-8th
(not March as first announced). So, look for the team to be active this
week on all bands on SSB and CW. Operators will be Frank/DJ3FK, Bernd/DK7TF,
Karl/DL4FP and Rudi/DK7PE. If possible, Rudi, DK7PE, will try some 160m,
depending on the antenna's possibilities. Rudi tells OPDX that callsigns
are not known yet, but they should be: DK7PE (4S7PEG), DK7TF (4S7DLG),
DL4FP (4S7**G not known) and DJ3FK (4S7**G not known).
7Q, MALAWI (Update to OPDX.644). Steve, G4EDG, has joined the team of
operators going to Malawi to be active between April 18th and May 1st.
9M2 & 9M6, EAST AND WEST MALAYSIA. Rich, PA0RRS, will be active as
9M2/homecall, from Kuala Lumpur, West Malaysia, February 6-9th. He will
then be active as 9M6/homecall from Keningau, East Malaysia, February
9-20th. Rich will also activate a West Malaysia IOTA between February
20th and March 2nd. Look for him to sign 9M2/homecall from Penang Island
(AS-015). QSL via his home callsign, direct or via the bureau.
9Y, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO. Chad, WE9V, will be active as 9Y4/WE9V from Tobago
Island (SA-009) from February 29th to March 10th. He plans on operating on
all HF bands on CW, SSB and RTTY. He will participate as Single-Op/All
Band/High Power entry in the ARRL DX SSB Contest using the station's call,
9Y4ZC. QSL 9Y4/WE9V and 9Y4ZC (ONLY ARRL DX SSB Contest 2004) to WE9V.
C6, BAHAMAS. Ivars, KC4PX, will again be active as C6APX in the Bahamas

C6, BAHAMAS. Randy, W6SJ, will be active as C6AWS in the ARRL CW DX Contest

6 day operation prior to, and including the ARRL International DX CW Contest
in mid-February. They will arrive and be setting up on Tuesday, February
17th, and will probably be on the air that late afternoon up until the
contest begins, the weekend of February 21st. Brian, K7RE, will sign
C6ALK and plans to operate as much 30 meters CW as possible before the
contest. When 30m isn't open, he will be on the highest WARC band that is
open and not being used by one of the other 2 stations in their shack.
Look for Bob, N4BP, to sign C6AKQ and be active on RTTY on the WARC bands,
and the regular bands if he runs out of QSOs on the WARC segments. He will
also do some WARC band CW. Kevin, K4PG, will be signing C6APG and will not
be at the site very long, but he should be an easy catch on 10 meters
during the contest, possibly he will be doing some CW prior to the contest
on the WARC bands. PLEASE NOTE: Preference will be given to stations
OUTSIDE the U.S. mainland PRIOR to the contest, as they wish to work ONLY
U.S. stations during the contest itself. During the contest, they plan to

QSL INFO AND NEWS...............
QSL the last week's 4U1UN operation to: 4U1UN, Grand Central Station,
P.O. Box 3873, New York, NY 10163 USA. Operators were Bernie/W3UR
(The Daily DX Editor), his daughter Christa/KB3JIU and well known QSL
Manager Steve/KU9C.
QSL HC1AJQ/HC4 via EA7FTR. Operator was Alex, HC1AJQ, from Canoa
on the Pacific coast.
QSL PR8/PS8NF via PS8NF. Operators PS8NF/Nelson, PS8DCA/Dalton and
PS8DEL/Glauber activated Sao Luis Island (SA-016) this past weekend.
This operation is valid for the Brazilian Island Award (DIB-007) and
the Brazilian Lighthouse Award (DFB 007).
NEW QSL MANAGER. Fran, EA7FTR, informs OPDX that he is now the new
QSL Manager for ST2NH and ST2YL. Send QSLs to EA7FTR at: Francisco
Lianez Suero, Asturias 23, 21110 Aljaraque HUELVA SPAIN.
NEW QSL MANAGER. Ralph, K2PF, reports that effective immediately, he
is the QSL Manager for Ado, T94OM.
NEW QSL MANAGER. Nenad, VE3EXY, announced this past week that he is
now (effective immediately) taking over all QSL business for Nick,
VK1AA (ex.VK2ICV). This includes the following callsigns VK9LX, H44XX,

for VK9LX, H44XX, and H40XX, while VK9LX/9, VK1AA/2 and VK1AA/4 are
still in the process of being printed. Nenad states direct requests
are more or less answered immediately, and there is a huge backlog of
bureau requests. Nick was not a member of the VK QSL Bureau, and your
QSL cards probably never made it through the system. From now on, he
will handle bureau requests, but via Canadian (VE) QSL bureau.
NOT THE QSL MANAGER! Steve, G3OAG, wants to remind OPDX readers that
he is NOT, never has been, and certainly do not want to be the QSL

forever. ZP6CU continues to be the QSL Manager for: ZP6CW, ZP6GG
and the previous ZP callsign noted above.

VK9L & VK9NB, LORD HOWE AND NORFOLK ISLANDS. Babs/DL7AFS and Lot/DJ7ZG
will be active as VK9LB from February 16-27th. They inform OPDX that
they currently have a problem with transportation to Lord Howe Island
as they are limited to only 14 KG per person. This means that they will
have to leave some antennas and equipment at Brisbane. They state, "Of
course to charter a private flight is a possibility. That is, however,
too expensive for us." Activity will be on 80-6 meters on SSB, RTTY and
PSK. Starting on March 1st, they will be active for 2 weeks as VK9NB
from Norfolk Island. They hope their activity will be without restrictions
from there. All QSLs are via DL7AFS. For more information, please visit
their Web page at: http://www.qsl.net/dl7afs
VP5, TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS. Operators David/W5AO, Connie/K5CM and
Pamela/N5KW will be active as VP51V from North Caicos (NA-002) in the
CQ WPX SSB Contest (March 27-28th) as as Multi/Single entry. Look for
the operators to be active outside of the contest signing VP5/homecall.
QSL VP51V via Box 88, Morris, OK 74445-0088. QSL VP5/W5AO, VP5/K5CM,
and VP5/N5KW via their home callsign (Call Book Addresses).
VP5, TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS. Dennis, K7BV, will travel here February
19-26th, to operate in the ARRL DX CW Contest using VP5M (approval pending).
Look for VP5/K7BV to be used outside the contest with operating emphasis
placed on the WARC bands and the 6/2 meter bands. Watch for updates on
the following Web page: http://www.qth.com/k7bv/Turks
VHF WSJT meteor scatter skeds can be arranged. QSL via KU9C.

a Multi/Single entry. They will also be active as VP5B in the ARRL DX
Phone Contest (March 6-7th) as a Multi/? entry. Callsigns before and
after the contest will be VP5/K4ISV and VP5/K4CN. QSL both contest
operations and activity outside of the contests via N2AU.
YV0, AVES ISLANDS. Reports indicate that the upcoming DXpedition to Aves
Island is now delayed until late February or (possibly) March.
XU, CAMBODIA. Remember to look for Peter, NO2R, to be active as XU7ACY
from Sihanoukville, February 2-8th. He plans to be active mainly on 160
meters and 80/40 meters. QSL via K2NJ, direct.
YI9, IRAQ. George, K7YMA, informs OPDX that he will be operating from Iraq
as YI9YMA now through April 15th. He will be operating on 10, 15 and 20
meters SSB only as duties permit. QSL is via the W7 Bureau or his home
callsign K7YMA. The K7YMA and YI9YMA information has been updated on QRZ,
Buckmaster and the WM7D websites. George states that he will submit the
log to LoTW upon his return home. He also mentions that his operation has
been accredited by ARRL DXCC Desk.
YI9, IRAQ. Dwayne, KE4RVT, is currently working here and is active as
YI9RVT. However, Alex, AI2Q, received and E-mail from Dwayne stating he
has developed a problem with his Radio Shack 22-510 PS and blew the
electrolytic capcitors. He is currently looking for a copy of the schematic
and is running/operating by battery and minimal antenna. He is still
waiting on antennas to arrive. There were two QSNs reported as this was
being typed. Dwayne was spotted on 10107 kHz at 1953z and 28025 kHz at
1153z.
