Hello DXers:

Several of you have asked about the team following the terrible earthquakes 
in SE Asia.

I do not have first hand information.  However, I have been able to pickup 
some information.

1.  The team is OK.  According to a message from VK6APK:
"I'm listening to VU4RBI on 14.193 (1000 UTC) and the news is that there is 
no electricity or telephone communication there at this time. Barathi is 
operating on low power.

All team members are OK after the frightening experience.

They are on standby to provide emergency communications to assist the local 
authorities if required.

2.  News reports have varying numbers as to the killed and injured on 
Andaman..... from 20 to 100 killed, etc.

3.  One report indicated that the team was packing to leave, but that has 
not been confirmed.  The report from Alek (above) said they were standing 
by to provide emergency communications if needed.

I will convey any further news as I get it, but for now I believe we can 
say that the DXpedition is over.
They have plenty to keep them busy without our begging  for another 
contact.  Lives are at risk and that is far more important than any DX 
related activity.
