Here is a short status of cards, and for those of you going to W9DXCC (or know
of a friend going) and want to get your cards....an offer!

First, a process issue: At the moment, I'm concentrating on getting out as
many cards as I can. If you put more than one call in the envelope, there is
an increased chance that your envelope won't be mailed as quickly as it would
have been had you sent two SASEs. I'm trying to do my best on this situation,
but let me say that the multiple QSL cards really play havoc with my process.
I've had a number of folks ask about DXCC submission deadlines, etc...and when
I find that your QSL is part of a request of me with 3 or more calls in the
envelope, frankly, it's hard to believe you are in a hurry. I'll try my best.

Please...do not resubmit cards....that just adds to the work load.

PW0T: I'm perhaps 1/2 way through the cards at this point. Cards are going
out daily.

YA5T: I've issued qsls for over 10,000 of the 40,000 QSOs the team has made to
date. I suspect that I'm about 80-90% caught up on the backlog on these
cards....but I am finding a lot of YA5T with other calls I manage. If you are
in this category, please be patient, it will be a while.

Other calls I manage: I tend to do these when I have 30 or so stacked
up......I just did a pile of the 'contest' stations, such as J75KG 2002, WP2Z,
FM5GU, etc. I know that CO8DM has generated a bunch of 6 meter activity, and I
am issuing these as fast as Doug gets the logs up to me. As an aside, I've
received a few donations with his cards...a short note...those donations were
used (in advance) to buy the 6 meter rig and amplifier that you worked him
with.....so they are put to good use. Try getting a rig from the US to
Cuba...NOT easy.

Now...for those of you going to W9DXCC in September. I'll be there, and will
be giving a short talk on the DX QSL process, as I see it, and some of the dos
and don'ts....if you are going, and there is a card you need...wait till a week
or so before the meeting (i.e., September 14th or so). If you HAVE NOT
received the card..email me with the qso details, and I'll hand carry it with
me. If you have a friend going, I'll be glad to relay the card as well.

I know many of you are anxious....I'd like to have this pile of cards gone more
than you know. But, I also have an obligation to do this process with the care
and dedication that you expect of a QSL manager. I keep loading up the local
mail box daily....
